According to a Bloomberg report, Microsoft is considering the acquisition of TickTock’s business in the US. The product Tiktok of Chinese company Bytdance has been continuously accused of sharing users’ data with the Chinese government. In such a situation, with the acquisition of Microsoft in the US, the company can expect to avoid a possible ban.

However, so far no response has been received from both the companies and they are refusing to talk on this issue.

Trump administration considering other options including ban

On Friday itself, President Trump once again reiterated the action taken against Tittock. Trump said, “We are watching Ticketcock. Maybe we can ban him. ” However, Trump has also said that his administration is also considering several other options regarding Ticketcock.

According to the report, ByteDans bought the American video sharing app Musicly (Musical.ly) in 2017 and merged it into Ticketock itself. However, in 2019, the US agency CFIUS, which monitors acquisitions by foreign companies in the country, reviewed the acquisition process for Musicly.
