Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given instructions to the officials to prepare the examination results after the announcement of the cancellation of CBSE’s class 12 board examinations.

The Central Board of Secondary Education had on Tuesday decided to cancel the Class 12 examinations.

The board said, “In view of the uncertainty prevailing due to Corona and after taking feedback from the concerned stakeholders, it has been decided that the 12th examinations will not be conducted this year.”

In this regard, Prime Minister Modi had presided over an important meeting on Tuesday.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, in this meeting, PM Modi directed the officials to ensure that the results are prepared in a fair and time bound manner as per the clear criteria.

It has been told that a committee of officials of the Central Board of Secondary Education will now prepare the criteria related to this. However, it has not been announced when the CBSE Board will be able to release the 12th class results.

Some experts are of the opinion regarding the 12th examination results that CBSE may direct the schools to prepare their examination results on the basis of the past performance of the students. Experts believe that if there is a delay in the declaration of the results, then it can also affect the admission of students in the college.

In this regard, Union Minister Sanjay Dhotre tweeted, “The board will take steps to compile the results of class 12 students in a time bound manner as per well defined criteria.”

PM Modi presided over the high level meeting in which it was decided to cancel the 12th examinations.

During this it was also decided that like last year, if some students wish to appear in the examination, then such option will be provided to them by CBSE if the situation becomes favorable.

PM Modi had earlier held a high-level meeting on May 21, which was attended by ministers and officials.

After that a meeting was held on 23 May under the chairmanship of the Union Defense Minister, in which the education ministers of the states participated. In this meeting, various options regarding conducting CBSE examinations were discussed and opinions and suggestions were received from the states and union territories.

According to officials, only two options were discussed in both these meetings. One option was to allow children to take exams in their own schools.

Whereas the second option was to reduce the duration of the examination to just 90 minutes. But on Tuesday, in the presence of PM Modi, there was also discussion about the third option i.e. canceling the examinations.

What will the state governments do?

It is believed that the BJP ruled states will not go against the opinion of PM Modi in this matter and will follow this decision.

After the meeting held on Tuesday, the Haryana Education Minister said that he welcomes the decision of the board and will follow the orders of the central government.

At the same time, the Education Minister of Uttarakhand said that he is going to hold a meeting in this regard soon. However, according to local media reports, Uttarakhand will go with PM Modi’s decision.

While Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal welcomed this decision and said that it has brought a big relief. On Tuesday itself, he had said that the examination should not be taken without giving the vaccine to the children.

After the Central Board of Secondary Education, the ICSE board has also decided not to conduct the 12th examination.

academic session disturbed due to corona

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations took this decision shortly after the CBSE’s announcement.

In view of the magnitude of the second wave of corona epidemic in India, on 14 April CBSE 10th examinations were canceled and 12th examinations were postponed. It was then said that the 12th examinations would be reconsidered on June 1, 2021.

Earlier CBSE 10th examinations were to be held from 4 May to 7 June 2021. At the same time, the 12th examinations were announced to be held between 4 May and 14 June 2021.

Normally these exams were held in March-April and the results used to come in June. But due to the Corona epidemic, this is the second season, which has gone awry.

Last year, even during the first wave of Corona, the 12th examinations were hanging in the balance. The examinations of some subjects had been done and some were left. Later they were canceled and given numbers on the basis of assessment.
