Bollywood Loses Rishi Kapoor

People had not even emerged from the news of the death of Bollywood actor Irrfan, that Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor also said goodbye to this world. Amitabh Bachchan has given information about this by tweeting on his official Twitter handle. Big B tweeted, “He left … Rishi Kapoor is gone … I am finished!”

On Wednesday, the actor’s health suddenly worsened after which he was admitted to the hospital in a hurry. He was being treated at HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai. Brother Randhir Kapoor confirmed the news that Rishi Kapoor’s health is not right. Now he breathed his last in this hospital.

Rishi Kapoor had trouble in breathing. Rishi Kapoor returned to India in September last year in New York after undergoing treatment for cancer for almost a year. In 2018, he was diagnosed with cancer. He then went to New York for his treatment. He was accompanied by his wife Neetu Kapoor at his last time. Meanwhile, his daughter Riddhima Kapoor has asked the government for permission to travel from Delhi to Mumbai. She is currently stuck in Delhi due to the lockdown.

A wave of mourning has raged since the death of Rishi Kapoor. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has expressed his condolence saying that the sudden demise of Rishi Kapoor is shocking. He was not only a great actor but also a good man. My condolences to his family, friends and fans.

Rishi Kapoor: An Overview

• Born on 4 September 1952, Rishi Kapoor’s first film was Bobby, before which he played the childhood character of his father Raj Kapoor in ‘Mera Naam Joker’.


• Mera Naam Joker was also not Rishi’s first film. Earlier, he was seen as a small child in ‘Shree 420’, for which Nargis had to convince Rishi by giving him lots of chocolate for the shoot. The boy Rishi is seen walking with brothers Randhir Kapoor and Reema in the film song Pyaar Hua Ikara Hua.


• It is believed that Raj Kapoor created ‘Bobby’ to launch his son Rishi Kapoor. Explaining the fact Rishi Kapoor said that after the failure of ‘Mera Naam Joker’, Raj Kapoor’s financial condition had deteriorated due to which he could not sign a top star for the film.


• Raj Kapoor planned a teenage romantic film ‘Bobby’ and for this he chose Rishi.


• After the tremendous success of ‘Bobby’, Rishi appeared in romantic roles in more than 90 films.


• Rishi’s pairing with Neetu Kapoor was highly liked. The youngsters in particular were crazy about this pair. Both did many films and most were successful.


• Rishi played the villain in the 2012 film Agneepath. He also played a negative character in the search.


• Rishi and his son Ranbir have done scene in towels in their first films. While Rishi dropped the towel in ‘Bobby’, Ranbir drops the towel in a song of ‘Saawariya’.


• The scene in ‘Bobby’ in which Rishi first meets Dimple was actually based on Nargis and Raj Kapoor’s first meeting.


• In a scene of ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, Rishi has called Neetu Kapoor with her real name Neetu. This mistake was not corrected and this scene can be seen in the film.
