Government approves grant of free food grains under PM Garib Kalyan Yojana for May-June

The central government has approved to provide free food grains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana for May and June 2021. Under this, 5 kg free food grains will be made available to the poor in the months of May and June.

To provide free food grains to about 80 crore beneficiaries, the Government of India has decided to provide free food grains to 80 crore beneficiaries, similar to last year’s Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. PM Narendra Modi stressed that it is important that when the country is facing the second wave of corona virus, the poor of the country have the support of nutrition.
