New Delhi: Taking a big decision, the government of the Czech Republic has stamped an important bill in favor of women. According to this bill, now if a woman is sterilized without consent, then she will be given compensation. After signing this bill, President Milos Zeman called it a big victory.

Forced sterilization of women

According to the news of our partner website Wion, the government has fixed a compensation of about 14 thousand US dollars (about 10 lakh rupees) for such women. Such incidents happened to most of the Roma women in the country, this Roma or Romani community is a minority and these people are believed to have migrated from India long ago. Human rights activist Gwendoline Albert had been raising her voice for women’s rights for a long time and now on this decision, she says that such a wrong thing was happening for many days and now the solution to this problem can be found soon.

According to a report in the Guardian, between 1966 and 2012, there have been cases of forced sterilization of many women and they had to go through this painful accident. Here women were sterilized by threatening and luring them.

There is no confirmed data regarding such cases, but it is believed that hundreds of women have been subjected to such atrocities. Social activist Elena Gorolova described the move as historic and said that she too was sterilized at the age of 21.
