7th Pay Commission: Scissors on allowance of 16 lakh employees, salary will be reduced by 5 thousand rupees

In Lockdown, the Uttar Pradesh government has run scissors on the salary of 16 lakh employees. The allowances received by them have been abolished. Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Sanjeev Mittal has issued its order after it was decided to abolish these allowances in cabinet bicirculation. With the elimination of these allowances, the salary of the employees will decrease by 2 thousand to 5 thousand rupees annually.

Due to Covid 19 mahamari, the state government has decided to abolish the allowances which the central government has already stopped, but till now the state government was paying its employees. There is resentment among the employees after this decision of the state government.

On April 24, the state government decided to abolish the 6 allowances by March 31, 2021. The state government had estimated that the elimination of these allowances would reduce the burden of Rs 24000 crore on the state government’s coffers every year.

These allowances are deducted

Secretariat allowance- More than 10,000 employees. Minimum 625 and maximum Rs 2000

City Compensation Allowance – 16 lakh employees. Minimum 340 and maximum Rs 900.

JE gets a special allowance of 400 rupees – every junior engineer of the state.

Research, orderly design allowance to PWD employees – More than 400 employees – officers get this allowance.

I&P, orderly allowance to be given in Irrigation Department – more than 500 employees.

More than 400 employees get incentive allowance for employees who maintain provident fund accounts.

The President of the Secretariat Association, Yadvendra Mishra, said that the allowances being given in the state in the name of Corona epidemic and which were deferred till March 2021, have now been abolished. The secretariat staff will consider the strategy of agitation against the government in association with other organizations of the state.
