Washed urad dal – 2 cups (soaked in water overnight)
Sugar – 3 cups
Water – 1/2 cup
Food color – as needed
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp Ghee – as needed
. Wash the lentils and grind them in a mixer.
. Now beat the lentils and add a few drops of food color to it.
. Keep the lentil pesto aside for some time.
. Make sugar syrup by mixing water and sugar in a pan on low flame.
. When the syrup is ready, add cardamom powder to it.
. Now pour the dal batter through a pipe with a nozzle or a hole in a cloth.
. Now heat the ghee and give the shape of Imarti and pour the batter.
. Cook it on a slow flame till it becomes crispy and crunchy.
. Remove from Imarti’s ghee and dip it in sugar syrup for 3 to 4 minutes. . Now filter it and serve it by placing it on a serving plate.
