The platform has already offered the feature of Disappearing Messages, which users have to turn on during every chat, but can now choose this option as the default for all their chats. Thus, you can use this feature to disable messages on Signal for all chats on your Android phone, iPhone and Signal’s desktop app.

How to set default timer for Disappearing messages on Signal Desktop?

1- Open the Signal app on the desktop and go to ‘file’ and then to ‘Preferences’.

2- On clicking on ‘Preferences’ option, scroll down and find ‘Default timer for new chat’ which will be placed under ‘Disappearing messages’.

3- Users can now select any option to set the default Disappearing Message Timer.

4- For more customizations, users can click on ‘Custom Time’ option, select as per preference and click on Set.

How to set default timer for Disappearing messages on Signal for smartphone?

1- Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the Signal app and select ‘Settings’.

2- Now go to ‘Privacy’ from the setting page which will show you the option of ‘Default timer for new chat’ under ‘Disappearing messages’ section.
