Natural disasters like Earthquake have unfortunately become a common occurrence worldwide. Any potential warning could be important in saving people’s lives and Google is rolling out a feature. If you are an Android smartphone user then there is a good news for you from Google. Actually, Google is working on such technology, by which your smartphone will work as an earthquake detector. That is, you will get to know about it before the earthquake.

Google on Tuesday added the Earhquake Alert System in California. The company says that with this Android smartphone will work as a Compressor Detector. Google has collaborated with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to send earthquake alerts. It will be operated by ShakeAlert, which uses signals from more than 700 seismometers installed in the state of California.

According to the ShakeAlert System website, the ShakeAlert uses hundreds of seismometer signals statewide to indicate earthquakes and shocks to trigger warning messages.

Use Android to search earthquake information

In an official blog post, Android’s chief software engineer Mark Stogitis says that Google has seen the opportunity for people to use Android as an assistant on time. They can share earthquake information to protect themselves and their loved ones.
