Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has targeted Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Know what is the whole matter ?.

Congress leader and MLA from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu today targeted Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. He alleged that he was trying to avoid accountability in cases related to the insult of Guru Granth Sahib.

Attacking Amarinder Singh, who is holding the charge of the Home Ministry along with the Chief Minister, Sidhu tweeted, “Isn’t the case of insulting Guru Granth Sahib a top priority for the Ministry of Home Affairs?”

He continued, “Avoiding accountability and making the Advocate General a scapegoat, shows that the executive administration has no control.” Whose order is served on the Advocate General? In this game of avoiding accountability, the legal team is just a pawn. “Another Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa has also made similar allegations recently.

Significantly, Sidhu has commented after the Punjab and Haryana High Court rejected the investigation report in 2015 in the case of police firing on people protesting against the insult of Guru Granth Sahib at Kotkapura in Faridkot.

The court has directed the state government to form a new SIT (Special Investigation Team) to probe the case afresh and not to include IPS officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh. Significantly, Singh resigned from the post after the court rejected the investigation report again. At the beginning of the month, the MLA from Amritsar demanded that the SIT investigation report of the case be made public.
