The country is celebrating 74th Independence Day amid Corona crisis. On this occasion, PM Narendra Modi hoisted the tri-color from the ramparts of the Red Fort. During this time, PM Modi has launched the National Digital Health Mission.

What did PM Modi say

Launching this scheme, PM Modi said that from today one more in the country

A very big campaign is going to start. This is the National Digital Health Mission. National Digital Health Mission will bring a new revolution in India’s health sector. PM Modi said that all your tests, every disease, which medicine was given to you, when was given, what were your reports, all this information would be contained in this one health ID.

What is this mission?

Actually, a unique card will be issued under the National Digital Health Mission. It will be like an Aadhaar card. Through this card, the patient’s personal medical records can be traced. If you understand in easy language, you will not have to take a slip and test report if you go to any corner of the country for treatment. The doctor will be able to sit from anywhere and find out through your unique ID what is the disease and what is the report so far.

The National Digital Health Mission is expected to focus primarily on health, personal health records, registration of private doctors and health facilities across the country.

Not mandatory now

However, it will not be made mandatory right now. It means that it is up to you whether you are joining it or not. But it is expected that it should be made mandatory in the coming days.

How will work

Hospitals, clinics, doctors will be linked to a central server to keep the patient’s medical data. This means that doctors, hospitals or diagnostic clinics will also be registered in it. This arrangement is not mandatory for them also. There is also a plan to include e-pharmacy and telemedicine services in this scheme.

Understand by example

Suppose that Sudhir Kumar has been treated in a private hospital in Patna, Bihar and has been tested in a clinic. But later Sudhir had to come to Delhi for treatment. Now if Patna’s private hospital and clinic are connected by server link, then he will create a digital file of the patient.

In this, there will be a mention of the patient’s illness, from investigations and medicines. Now with Sudhir’s unique ID, the doctor of Delhi will be able to find out what the patient is suffering from and what medicines have been given so far or what has been found in the investigation.
