Good news: lakhs of central employees will get three installments of dearness allowance

There is news of relief for central employees and pension holders. Central government employees and pensioners will be given full dearness allowance from July 1, 2021 and the remaining dearness allowance will also be restored. Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur gave this information in the Parliament.

Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said in Parliament on Tuesday that the central employees and pensioners will get the three installments of dearness allowance arrears in July 2021. Explain that due to the Corona crisis, the government had withheld three installments of dearness allowance of central employees, including one January 2020, one July 2021 and one January 2021 installment.

The Minister of State for Finance informed that about 50 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners will benefit from this decision of the government. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Anurag Thakur said that whenever it is decided to give the DA installment for July 1, 2021 in future, the rest of the three installments will also be restored.

Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur informed in Parliament that the government saved about Rs 37,530.08 crore by not giving three installments of dearness allowance. Explain that at present, central employees get dearness allowance up to 17% of their basic salary.

It is scheduled from July 2019 and was to be amended in January 2020. However, due to the corona, it could not be amended. Last year, the Union Cabinet approved increasing dearness allowance from four per cent to 21 per cent, but it has not yet been increased.
