British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has taken a tough stance on Sunday ahead of the crucial stage of post-Brexit trade talks with the European Union. He said that Britain could be out of negotiations within a few weeks and said that the exit would be ‘good result for Britain’ in case there is no deal. The agreement is possible only when EU negotiators are ready to ‘reconsider their current situation’. At the same time, the EU is seriously accusing Britain of not participating in the negotiations.

Britain withdrew from the European Union on 31 January, in which now only 27 nations have survived. Three and a half years before this, the country had voted in favor of ending the four decades of membership. This political departure is followed by an economic halt when the 11-month transit period ends on 31 December and Britain will withdraw from the EU’s Single Market and Customs Union.

Eighth phase talks will be held on Tuesday

Without the agreement, the new year would bring tariffs and other economic barriers between Britain and its largest trade partner, the faction. Johnson said that if Britain “makes trade agreements with the European Union like Australia”, the country can “prosper well”.

Britain’s chief negotiator David Frost and his counterpart Michel Barnier are scheduled to meet in London on Tuesday for the eighth phase of talks. The main issues in the talks include giving European boats access to UK waters and providing state aid to industries.
