The train was going from Mansura to Cairo
The provincial governor’s office said in a statement that eight coaches of the train derailed in Cairo’s Banha town in the province of Kalubia. Videos of the accident have surfaced on social media, in which the coaches of the train are overturned and passengers are leaving. This train was going from Mansura, the city of Nile delta, to Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
The train derailed last week too
The Health Ministry said that 97 people were injured in the accident and the cause of the accident was not immediately known. It is noteworthy that last week too, 15 passengers were injured when the train derailed in Sharqiya province.
