The temple mosque dispute in Ayodhya has ended. On 5 August, Bhoomipujan program of the temple was completed in Ayodhya.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself participated in the program. With this, the work of building a grand temple has started.
From the Shriram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, it has been said that engineers from Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) Roorkee, IIT Madras and Larsen & Toubro have started the temple construction work by examining the soil.
The construction work of the temple will be completed within 36 to 40 months.
Now the news is coming that the map of the temple has also been passed from the Ayodhya Development Authority. A meeting in this regard was held on 29 August.
After Supreme Court order
On the other hand, the work of building a mosque has also increased. The Sunni Waqf Board had created the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation for what is to be done on five acres of land. The same foundation was given the responsibility of how to use this five acres of land.
The Supreme Court, while giving its verdict in the Ayodhya case, had ordered the central government to form a trust for the Ram temple and told the UP government to give five acres of space for the mosque.
Following the Supreme Court’s order, the UP government has given five acres of land to Sunni Waqf Board to build a mosque in Dhannipur village near Ayodhya. This land is part of a 25-acre farm house of the Agriculture Department, where the paddy crop is planted at this time. There is a dargah here now. This place is about 25 kilometers from the disputed site.
However, many Muslims of Ayodhya and many people who were parties in this dispute were opposing the proposal to give so much land and build a mosque.
Who is Professor SM Akhtar
The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation has finalized the name of the architect who designed the mosque on the ground. Jamia Millia Islamia University professor SM Akhtar has been selected for this job.
Professor Akhtar is also the dean of the Department of Architects at Jamia. He has been associated with this field for thirty years and has mastered designing Indo-Islamic maps.
He had not filled any application for this work. According to him, he has been selected on the basis of his ability because his work speaks only.
On September 1, he was informed on the phone that he has to prepare the design of what will be built with the mosque on the five acres of land.
An international conference on Islamic art and architecture has been going on since 2007 in the world.
It has been organized in many countries of the world including Iran, Pakistan. It has been organized in Delhi three times. Professor Akhtar has been the convenor of those conference in Delhi. They believe that due to this, the foundation’s people have come to know about their work.
He claims that he worked as a consultant in many companies before becoming a professor. He has designed a lot of Jamia’s buildings.
Professor Akhtar has been both President and Secretary of the Indian Institute of Architects Uttar Pradesh Chapter and hails from Lucknow.
How will the mosque map?
The grandeur of the temple being built in Ayodhya is widely discussed everywhere. A few years ago in collaboration with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the model of the Ram temple has been prepared by Gujarat-based architect Chandrakant Sompura, which has now been approved with some changes.
So will the map of the mosque be equally grand?
In response to this question, Professor Akhtar says, “It is said in our profession, architecture is never repeated. It is always developed over time. The one who is dead becomes the archaic one and the one who is alive is architecture ie Architecture is. Anything that is contemporary, will be alive and vibrant – we will design like that. When we do this thinking, we create new things.

So will the structure of the new temple be completely different from the old Babri Masjid? On this, Professor Akhtar says clearly that the new mosque will be completely different. There will be no domed part in it.
So has he got permission from the Sunni Waqf Board in this regard? On this, he says that there is no need to seek permission from anyone before working on the design. According to him, many new themes are being worked on in the world in Europe and other countries, in which the mosque works on ‘Zero Energy’. Everything is recycled there.
Also, Professor Akhtar also made it clear that at present there is no picture of the mosque in his mind. Now he has started thinking, and when he wakes up while sleeping, he will be able to start working on that design only.
Example of Spirit of India
Actually, only the mosque will not be built on five acres of land. There is a plan to build a complete complex in which the mosque will be a major part. The theme of the complex will be ‘Khidmat-e-Khalk’ which means service to humanity.
According to Professor Akhtar, there will be an impression of Islam in it, as well as talk of Indianness, whose basic mantra is to serve the people. They say that you can achieve this by helping people. For this, they also give some examples. If some people are not getting healthcare, then by feeling their pain, you can give them hospital facilities, then this humanity Is the service of. There is also a similar demand to build that complex.
Due to this, there will also be a hospital in the complex and there will be talk of teaching. But this is not necessarily the same as school. They say we can teach people by showing history. In today’s society, this complex will work to bridge the distances between people.
However, he did not say how long the plan of the mosque will be ready. Nor did he answer the question as to what would be the name of the mosque and to whom he would send invitations while laying the foundation.
But in the end he definitely said that the design of this mosque was ready for me.
It is a matter of pride to do and even more important that I have been given this assignment. Every effort will be made to make the design such that its example is given in the world.
