This amount has been released to 14 states … Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripur, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

A grant of the same amount was released in the April-August period of the current financial year. Mechanism is provided by the Finance Commission to the Center to compensate the revenue loss of the states. This is called revenue deficit grant after sharing of states’ share in central taxes.
