Coronavirus in Nagaland: Night curfew, shops, restaurants will remain closed in Dimapur from Friday night

Night curfew has been imposed in Dimapur district of Nagaland from Friday night. During this time, approval will be given to the essential services in the district.

In view of Corona infection, curfew has been announced in Dimapur district of Nagaland from 8 am to 5 am on 23 April (Friday). According to an order, it also announced the closure of all shops, business establishments and restaurants from 7 o’clock every night. On April 19, according to the instructions of the Nagaland Home Department and on April 16, according to the order issued by the Office of the Chief Secretary, the meeting of the District Task Force was held at the Deputy Commissioner Office in Dimapur.

Although medical, emergency and essential services, including pharmacies, will be allowed to function fully, four or more people are allowed to stay or walk during the curfew. The order states that there will be no restriction on movement of essential service goods trucks, other vehicles, including empty vehicles and movement of people.

Late night bus services, public transport, private vehicles and movement of taxis from railway stations and bus terminals, stop / stand will be allowed to produce valid travel documents to facilitate the movement of passengers by air, rail and road.

Market will open on alternate days

The order states that all the shops located in New Market and Hong Kong Market will open on alternate days following the aud-even system. Only vendors sitting on 50 per cent pavement will be allowed on any day and necessary arrangements for this will be made by the Dimapur Municipal Council Administrator.

Weekly market closed until next order

All the weekly markets of the district will not open till the next order. However, the facility for the vendors of the respective weekly markets to sell their products in various colonies, wards and villages will be provided by the city council and ward / village officials.
