26 January Dip Sidhu accused in violence case gets bail from Delhi court

Actor-activist Deep Sidhu, who was arrested in the case of violence in Lal Qila on Republic Day, was granted bail by the Delhi Tis Hazari Court on Saturday. He has got this bail on a personal bond of 30 thousand rupees.

Earlier, during the hearing, Sidhu’s lawyer had said in court that mere presence does not make his client accused of gathering crowds illegally and that he is an honest citizen who was involved in the protest.

The Public Prosecutor, appearing on behalf of the Delhi Police, claimed that Sidhu had participated in the protest with the aim of committing violence and insulting the tricolor. Sidhu had the main role in legally gathering people.
