The Ministry of Labor and Employment is implementing the National Career Service (NCS) project to revamp the facilities of job information, career advice, vocational guidance, training, skill development courses etc. Under this project all the information can be obtained through the online portal WWW.NCS.GOV.in.

In addition, NCS is also organizing a free online career training program for its registered job seekers in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) unit TCS ION. The move has been taken in the midst of large scale organized and unorganized sector jobs due to the Kovid-19 crisis.

According to the ministry’s statement released on Friday, the National Career Service Project has been implemented by converting National Employment Services to provide information about jobs, career advice, vocational guidance, training, skill development courses, etc. Under this, all information can be obtained through the online portal WWW.NCS.GOV.in (www.ncs.gov.in).

Access to 55 thousand employers

Nearly 55,000 employers are registered on the NCS portal with about one crore active jobseekers. On this, information has been given about 73 lakh vacancies in various places. Also, 200 Model Career Centers (MCCs) including about 1000 employment offices have also been integrated with NCS.

According to the statement, 76 online job fairs have been organized so far during the lockdown period. In order to give direct access to these jobs to the job seekers, a special link has been created on the NCS portal for home-working jobs and online training programs. NCS is organizing a free online ‘career training program for its registered job applicants / job seekers in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) unit TCS ION.
