Dr. Suryakant, a member of the Corona Task Force of King George Medical University (KGMU) Lucknow, has said that it is better to avoid smoking if you are exposed to the infection of coronavirus. Beedi-cigarettes can become infected and they can spread infection easily by coming in contact with fingers and lips.

Although the government has prohibited the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products, people are not deterring themselves from risking their lives by stealthily using it. Spitting here and there by consuming these products is also a risk of infection, so the government has also stopped spitting in the open. A provision for punishment has also been made for violating it.

Dr. Suryakant, president of the Respiratory Medicine Department of KGMU Lucknow and a member of the Corona Task Force, stated that “smoking weakens the immunity of a person, due to which viruses like corona easily engulf such people.” Apart from this, there is also a negative impact on the treatment of such people when the disease falls. ”

This is why those who use it are many times more prone to corona than non-smokers. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also issued specific guidelines to warn about the danger of smoking from corona.

Dr. Suryakant said that “Not only cigarette, cigarette and e-cigarette, but also other cigarette products can spread the infection of corona virus, so it is better to get rid of them for the safety of yourself and your loved ones.”

“Coronavirus infects one another through droplets from sneezing, coughing and spitting. That is why open spitting in the state has been included in the category of punishable offense. Apart from this, smoking causes heavy damage to the respiratory system, windpipe and lungs. This is the reason that weakening of lung cells reduces the ability to fight infection on its own.”
