President Jair Bolsonaro has asked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to send the consignment of Astra Zeneca Covid-19 vaccine soon, amid the delay in getting the vaccine in Brazil.

According to the news agency Reuters, Bolsonaro has made this request through a letter to the Indian Prime Minister. Bolsonaro’s letter has been released by his press office.

This letter has been written at a time when the pressure is constantly increasing on Bolsonaro to introduce vaccination in Brazil so that the corona virus is the second most badly affected Brazilian in the world.

Critics say that the immunization campaign in Brazil lags behind other countries in the region. These people are raising the question why the government is not taking steps to bring this vaccine more quickly. Bolsonaro wrote in his letter, “To implement our national immunization program immediately, it would be happy if 20 lakh doses of Brazil could be sent immediately without affecting the Indian vaccination program.”
