China on Sunday successfully tested its first Amphibious aircraft AG 600 at sea. This aircraft can takeoff or land from both sea and land. It has been built by the Aviation Industry Corp of China (AVIC) of China. The test flight was carried out in the South China Sea in Qingdao, China, Shandong Province.
The cargo aircraft, manufactured in China, will be used for relief, rescue and delivery of goods. The aircraft took off from the sea near Qingdao and was landed at Rizhao Airport in Shandong Province.
According to the news published in the Global Times, AVIC has claimed that it is one of the finest amphibious aircraft in the world. Its first ground flight and landing was successfully conducted in December 2017 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China.
The company said that this aircraft has been built according to the salt water of the sea and the humid atmosphere. It can also takeoff or land in high seas.
With the help of this aircraft, goods can be delivered to Chinese warships, civilian ships and oil tankers present at sea. Also, with the help of this, relief and rescue operations can also be done in the emergency.
After successful testing of this aircraft of China in both ground and water, now the aviation industry experts believe that China will soon start using it. However, it is being said that it will be handed over to China’s aviation industry to operate next year.
It can carry goods weighing 12 tonnes at one time. Apart from this, 50 people can be saved in an emergency. China can transport goods and humans to its ships spread all over the world through this ship. No ground airport will be required for this.
