Today marks five years since the announcement of demonetisation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On November 8, 2016, PM Modi took a big decision of demonetisation in the country, after which 500 and 1000 notes were taken out of circulation overnight. Since then, the opposition has been criticizing the decision of demonetisation. Meanwhile, today i.e. on Monday also, Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien has tried to surround the Modi government over the tweet made by Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee after the announcement of demonetisation.

Brian tweeted about demonetisation, ‘On the night of November 8, 2016, a few hours after the announcement of demonetisation, only Mamata Banerjee was able to catch what would be the harm. Calling it a ruthless decision, made five tweets.

Five years ago after demonetisation, Mamata Banerjee had tweeted that the government should withdraw this harsh decision. The Prime Minister has not been able to fulfill the promise made by him to bring black money from abroad, so this is a drama to hide his failure. It is a financial chaos and a disaster on the common people of India.

Let us tell you that on November 8, 2016, the government had banned 500 and 1,000 rupee notes. At that time the government had given the option to the public that they can deposit the discontinued notes in their banks or can replace them with new notes. Due to which a huge crowd of people was seen outside the branches of banks across the country.
