Preparations are on to open schools in many countries including Britain and the US, despite the continuation of corona virus infection. The reasoning behind this is that children spread corona infection less or they are less prone to corona. However, a big study has revealed problematic information.

65 thousand people were studied in South Korea. Study results suggest that opening of schools may increase corona cases. The study showed that children under 10 years of age have fewer infections than adults, but the risk is not zero.

According to the study, children between 10 and 19 years can spread corona infection as much as an adult. Michel Osterholm, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Minnesota, says that infection can spread to children as well, now we need to accept this.

Dr. Ashish Jha, director of Harvard Global Health Institute, says that in many studies in Asia and Europe, there were indications that children are less infected and the infection is less spread. But these studies were small and also had flaws. But the new study has been done in a very systematic way and has also covered a large population. It was found in the study that children under 10 years of age have about half the infection infection rate than adults. Since children release less air after breathing and their height is also reduced, it is believed that this is why they spread less infection.
