A new twist has come in this whole controversy. Now Kangana has filed a counter petition against Javed Akhtar. It is being told that many allegations have been leveled against Akhtar by Kangana including extortion, breach of privacy. After this the hearing has been adjourned till October 1. Kangana’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui argued that when this case is bailable, then why is it necessary for Kangana to come to the court daily. In the appeal filed through Rizwan Siddiqui, Ranaut claimed that the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate’s court initiated proceedings against him relying only on the police report and did not independently examine the witnesses.
Akhtar (76) had filed a complaint in the magistrate’s court in November last year, claiming that Ranaut had made defamatory statements against him in a television interview, which allegedly caused damage to his reputation.
