Modi Cabinet Approves PM Poshan Yojna

An important cabinet meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, in which many big announcements were made by the cabinet. Giving information about the decisions taken in the cabinet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the government has approved the launch of PM Nutrition Scheme for mid-day meals in more than 11.2 lakh government and government aided schools across the country. He said that this scheme will run for 5 years and it will cost Rs 1.31 lakh crore.

Anurag Thakur said that the mid-day meal scheme which is going on now will be included in the PM Poshan Yojna itself. He said that as far as the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana is concerned, apart from the mid-day meal, a lot will be added to it, only then its expenditure has been made to the tune of Rs 1,31,000 crore. The beneficiaries will also be crores of students from more than 11,20,000 schools.

Anurag Thakur said that the Education Ministry will give complete information about this. This scheme will be run in collaboration with the states, but the center will have a major participation in it. Under this scheme 54 thousand crore rupees will be spent by the central and about 32 thousand crore rupees by the state governments. Apart from this, the Center will also give Rs 45 thousand crore for food grains.

At the same time, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that the cabinet’s decision and self-reliant India package have helped a lot in increasing the country’s exports. The country had the highest export of $330 billion 3 years ago. There is enthusiasm among exporters as well. This year will be historic for the country from the point of view of exports.
