The country is currently struggling with the Corona epidemic and the subsequent lockdown. At the same time, the government is taking big steps for reform. The government aims to bring the economy affected by the lockdown back on track as soon as possible. In such a situation, the Modi government has started opening many such sectors to the common people, which were still closed. One of these sectors is the petroleum sector. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), a regulator in the sector, has issued an order 2 days ago stating that no license is required to set up LNG stations in the country.

After this, now any entity can open LNG station in the country. As soon as this announcement was made by PNGRB, a big company of the country, Petronet LNG Limited, welcomed the decision and revealed the big plan. The company has said that it will start taking applications to set up LNG stations across the country. Fuel expenses of vehicles are reduced by 25 percent

Petronet has LNG terminals at Dahej in Gujarat and Kochi in Kerala. Here the company operates LNG based commercial buses. These buses bring in and leave the employees of the company. Once the filling, these buses travel up to 900 km. Due to the use of LNG, the fuel bills of vehicle owners are coming down by 25 percent. If the government promotes this fuel, then there can be considerable savings of foreign exchange. With this, the country’s import bill can be reduced by 30 to 40 percent by importing LNG against crude.
