Government will not interfere in oil prices: Sources

The government has no intention of interfering in the rising oil prices right now. Rather, it has been reported from government sources that the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel will be done gradually, that is, the rate will be increased by 10-10 paise. There will not be any sudden increase in prices, that is, the government will give a shock of inflation, but a little slowly. If the price keeps increasing like this, then petrol will become more expensive by Rs 2-3 per liter in 15-20 days, the price of diesel will also increase by Rs 1-2.

The prices of petrol and diesel are determined by the international crude oil prices, that is, the government does not regulate the prices, so it is not in its hands to reduce the prices. At the most, the government can give relief by reducing its tax. But the government does not want to interfere now. At present, crude oil is also moving beyond $ 70 per barrel, which is a year-long record high. In such a situation, the government oil companies of the country will also increase the prices of petrol and diesel. Currently, oil companies usually increase by 20 paise to 40 paise per liter on an average, but now such a big increase will not be done in one go.

Increased concern of the Ministry of Petroleum

According to sources, the Petroleum Ministry is also worried about the ever-increasing prices of crude oil. The Petroleum Ministry has sent a letter to the Finance Ministry on this matter 10 days ago, in which it has expressed its concern over the rising oil prices. On the other hand, the problem for the customers is that if the Center is not doing anything, then the states are also not ready to reduce their tax, the states say that their earnings have decreased significantly during the Corona period. That’s why they can’t do that.
