Transformation of Rural India through self-employment

Rural employment is succeeding in checking the increasing unemployment in rural areas, preventing migration of rural educated to cities and providing more employment opportunities.

To make each one self-reliant by the Honorable Prime Minister, “Namo Mantra Foundation” has decided to promote “Namo Village Market” at every district levels in the country. A special package has been made available for small cottage industries at district levels in the state. District level officers and Panchayats play an important role in rural development. If the rural development schemes are implemented honestly by the government, then the day is not far when everyone will have employment opportunities in the country.

Everything from agriculture to forest wealth, animal husbandry, weavers, cottage industries, etc. are available in the villages, only the people there need to be trained, along with proper steps to be taken. Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special attention to development works in rural areas. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has welcomed the PM’s economic package for the MSME, rural and cottage industries sector, saying it would take the sector to new heights.

The “Farmers Cooperative Society” has allocated special packages for farmers. The government has implemented a rural employment guarantee scheme. In which various directions have been issued officially to our Zillah Panchayat and Administration.

Special attention will have to be spared to the levels of education in rural areas. If the level of school/college is good in rural areas, then local teachers will be able to provide good education to the students there. “Namo Village Market” will help in implementing the Employment Guarantee Act under the education scheme.

The Govt. has announced a special package for education of rural students and has approached the Zilla Panchayat to promote good education and harmonization of employment. Bhagalpur in Bihar is a small town located on the banks of the Ganges River. Bhagalpur is also known as the silk city in India.

People from the rural areas of Bhagalpur city have been doing silk business for years, it also does business in other countries from India. Bhagalpuri handloom silk productions contribute to India’s major silk production. Sarees, kurtas, jackets, dupattas, suits and stoles are the major products made with Bhagalpuri discs.

In the “Namo Rural Market” production, an Employment Guarantee Scheme has been implemented for the villagers under the Prime Minister’s scheme. Bhagalpur has gained recognition for its silk product! The famous silk “tashar silk” of Bhagalpur is in great demand. Kurta, suits, sarees, dupattas, kurtis and other costumes are also made of Bhagalpuri silk.

In tribal areas, the dry leaves can provide employment to the villagers by training them specially with wood and vegetation. Beedi, cigarettes are made from dried leaves and a variety of products in the jungles. Plates are made by the manufacture of leaves, and both are good opportunities for employment. Promoting soil production in rural areas provides local employment opportunities for villagers. Eating substances made from clay pot will also be beneficial for health providing basic facilities in the village at district level including providing medical services and promoting self-employment.

In every state, the government is ready to implement the scheme that employs women at the district level. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in rural areas, the women who took part in the scheme in the rural areas, took the benefit of this scheme to every villager in the state who have been victimized by female feticide. In the coming times, the women will be trained and prepared.  Importantly,  women have played an important role in making this scheme successful.

Now women also roam in the village under “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” and protest against female foeticide and provide education to small girls, under which the Namo Foundation including the district center pledged that women should be paid in return for education. Various efforts are being made to create awareness about women in the country.

Various schemes run by the government are getting success in rural areas, due to which the state government also considers it necessary to increase employment.

For the development of the Khadi Gramodyog industry in Uttar Pradesh, raw yarn is made by weavers and sold in cities, which gives a good dimension to her business and women also participate extensively.

In this way, we cannot ignore the role of villagers in the import and export of the country.

Sugarcane is cultivated in large quantities in Uttar Pradesh. For the work of making sugar and jaggery, the villagers work in large numbers and earn a livelihood.

Women also participate extensively, from the process of extracting sugarcane to making jaggery, and the women do the business and men come to the cities and do business, thus generating employment in the village from sugarcane.

Namo Rojgar Market is a successful scheme in every way. In this, our Prime Minister has tried to give special attention to rural employment keeping in mind all the schemes and he tries to provide good education opportunities to the women especially there. The village should be developed through employment and the country can become prosperous and firm.

In order to enable rural women to become self-reliant, the Prime Minister has set a good example of “Ujjwala Yojana” for women under rural schemes, women are benefiting from it and their families are becoming more and more prosperous with each passing year.

The Sampoorna Grameen Yojana aims at building sustainable community assets to increase food security in rural areas as well as to create daily employment opportunities. Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation has declared self-reliant India on 12 May 2020. Let us all together take a pledge that we will strengthen the resolve of Hon’ble Prime Minister and make the country self-dependent through nation-building employment in rural areas.
