Tricolor waved for the first time on Times Square, India’s Independence Day celebrated in America

The tricolor was hoisted on Saturday at Times Square in New York, USA on the occasion of India’s 74th Independence Day celebrations. This was the first time that the national flag of India was hoisted at this famous site.

In New York, Consul General of India Randhir Jaiswal hoisted the flag on Times Square. The event was organized by the Federation of Indian Associations.

Addressing the people at the event, Randhir Jaiswal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prepared a road ahead for India and a roadmap for the creation of a new India and we are trying to take the country forward in the same framework. .

Presidential candidate Joe Biden on behalf of the Democratic Party in America addressed the gathering of Indian-American citizens. While congratulating Independence Day, Biden said that if he is elected as the President of America, he will stand with India and stand against India’s problems.

Apart from America, Indians living in different parts of the world celebrated India’s 74th Independence Day by hoisting the tricolor and singing national anthem and patriotic songs.
