Micro-blogging website Twitter has been in the headlines for high profile hacking since last few days. But now the news is that the company is exploring the option of subscription model for Twitter.

Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey has said that the company can consider the subscription model to make money. Significantly, Twitter’s main source of income is advertising and it has been declining for some time.

However, Jack Dorsey has also made it clear that the idea about the subscription model is still in the initial stages. In fact, there has been a decline in revenue from advertising and due to this the company is looking at other ways to generate revenue.

According to a CNN report, Jack Dorsey has told the analysts, ‘You can see some tests this year’. They have also said that it is still in the initial phase.

It is worth noting that in the second quarter of this year, there has been a decline of 23% in the revenue from advertising to the company. Some time ago it was rumored that the subscription model would be starting soon on Twitter.

Although now there is a break on this rumor, but it is not a full stop. Because Twitter will not be paid so soon.

At the moment it is not clear how Twitter will do this job when it comes to the subscription model. Which users will the company target and will people have to pay to open an account on Twitter or use its advanced features? The answer to all these can be found only when the company issues some official statement about it.
