According to reliable sources, Pakistan has raised the demand for representation of Taliban in the meeting. India and many other member countries of SAARC strongly objected to this. In such a situation, this meeting was canceled after no consensus could be reached. According to reports, most of the countries had agreed that the chair of Afghanistan should be kept vacant during the meeting, but Pakistan remained adamant, after which the meeting itself was canceled.
