Who is Anand Giri?

Many questions have been raised regarding the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, president of the Akhara Parishad, under suspicious circumstances. His disciple Anand Giri has also been arrested. A case of abetment to suicide of Narendra Giri has also been registered against Anand Giri. Actually, Narendra Giri has accused Anand and two other disciples in the suicide note. Let us tell you that some time ago there was a dispute between Mahant Narendra Giri and Anand Giri. Anand Giri had made many serious allegations against his guru and called the death of two young sadhus of Niranjani Akhara as murder. At the same time, it is worth noting that the death of Narendra Giri was also first termed as murder by Anand Giri.

Originally from Uttarakhand, Anand Giri was a member of Niranjani Akhara. In the same year, he was also accused of not discharging the saint tradition properly and maintaining relations with his family. Following this allegation, he was expelled from the arena. The dispute between Mahant Narendra Giri and Anand Giri was going on for a long time. It was also believed that the root of this dispute was the seat of the Baghambri Peeth.

In such a situation, after being expelled from the arena, Anand Giri released a video on social media and made many sensational allegations against his guru Mahant Giri. He accused Narendra Giri of selling the Math’s land. Apart from this, he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister, Home Minister as well as the Chief Minister of UP and Uttarakhand, stating the danger of his life.

Anand Giri had questioned the death of Niranjani Akhara secretary Mahant Ashish Giri and Digambar Gangapuri as murder. Anand had said that Ashish had been murdered for Giri’s property, but Mahant Narendra Giri made him a case of suicide with his influence. Similarly, Mahant Digambar Gangapuri Maharaj also died under suspicious circumstances. Anand Giri had demanded an inquiry into the deaths of both.

However, Narendra Giri had called all the allegations baseless. Narendra Giri had said that Anand Giri was deliberately doing gimmicks to get security. After this, there was a reconciliation between the two and Anand Giri even apologized by holding the feet of his guru. Narendra Giri also lifted the restrictions imposed on Anand Giri, in which the monastery was allowed to visit the Baghambari Gaddi and the Bade Hanuman temple.

Along with this, there were allegations of molestation against Anand Giri. In 2019, two foreign girls filed a case of molestation against Anand Giri. Anand Giri was in Australia at that time. At the same time, two young girls living there had complained of molestation on the pretext of teaching yoga. After the case was registered on foreign soil, Anand had to go to jail but was acquitted after the charges were not proved in the court.
