The cricket teams of England and Australia will play three T20 and a series of one-day matches. This tour will start from 4 September. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed this on Friday.

T20 series matches will be played on 4, 6 and 8 September. All these matches will be held at the Ages Bowl in Southampton, while all the matches of the three-match ODI series will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester. The ODI series matches will be held on 11, 13 and 16 September.

The ECB said, ‘The Australian team will reach Great Britain on 24 August. She will first come to Derbyshire and then go to the Ages Bowl in Southampton. The Australian team will play a 50-over practice match between themselves before the start of the T20 series. Also, three T20 practice matches will also be played.

ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said, “We are indebted to the players, staff and administrators of Cricket Australia that they agreed to the tour.” He said, ‘Their cooperation was very important for organizing cricket in this country. This will provide much needed financial help to England and Wales Cricket Board.

Australia head coach Justin Langer said, ‘It is important that in this difficult time we do everything we can to keep cricket going. We can’t wait to return to the ground again. Apart from the World Cup, Test series, series with India and South Africa, we have a big job ahead of the Ashes series.
