However, Cricket South Africa has started exploring legal options against the government’s move.
On Thursday, SASCOC asked all members of Cricket South Africa’s boards to step down from their posts. In protest of this move, Cricket South Africa has now decided to fight a legal battle. Cricket South Africa says that whatever decision is being taken by the government is not in the interest of cricket.
SASCOC alleges that since December 2019, big mistakes have come to light in Cricket South Africa. SASCOC says that whatever is happening on the board, the country’s cricket image has deteriorated among the national team, sponsors and fans.
SASCOC said, “There is no doubt that cricket has suffered.” Cricket South Africa has lost all confidence. Because of this, cricket is suffering a lot of damage.
However, the entire cricket controversy has been monitored by the International Cricket Council. According to ICC rules, the government should not directly interfere in the cricket board of the country. If the South African government body takes control of SASCOC cricket, then South Africa can be banned from playing international cricket.
