ICC ODI Rankings: Pakistan’s new captain Babar Azam has shown the work that no other batsman could do in ODI cricket in the last four years. Babar Azam has become the world’s number one ODI cricketer by beating Virat Kohli.

ICC ODI Ranking: India’s captain Virat Kohli’s reign is over after a 41-month long hiatus in One Day International. Pakistan captain Babar Azam has achieved the first position by beating Virat Kohli in the ICC ODI rankings. Babar Azam has become the new king of ODI cricket with 865 points, while Virat Kohli has now dropped to the second position with 857 points. Rohit Sharma is third in the ICC ODI rankings with 825 points.

Team India captain Virat Kohli was ranked first in the ICC rankings from August 2017 to April 2021. Talking of days, Virat Kohli’s reign in ICC rankings lasted for 1,258 days. Babar Azam, who made his ODI career debut for Pakistan in 2015, has achieved the top position in the ODI rankings for the first time.

Babar Azam is the fourth such batsman from Pakistan to achieve the rank of number one in the ICC ODI rankings. Earlier, Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miadad and Mohammad Yusuf were the three Pakistani cricketers who got the number one position in the ICC ODI rankings.

Fakhar’s luck also shines

Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman also performed well in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against South Africa. Fakhar, who played an excellent innings of 193 runs in the second ODI, has received the reward for his good performance in the ODI rankings. Fakhar Zaman, who scored 302 runs in three matches, has reached the 7th position in the ODI rankings.
