Matthew Wade (33) was run out. Marnus Labushan (6) was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin. Joey Burns remained unbeaten on 51 off 63 balls with seven fours and a six. Steve Smith returned unbeaten on one run.

Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins were instrumental in putting India on 36 runs in the second innings. Hazlewood took five wickets and Cummins took four.

This was captain Virat Kohli’s last Test in this series. Now he will return home for the birth of his first child.
