IND Vs AUS Brisbane Test: Shubman Gill has broken Gavaskar’s 50-year-old record. Shubman Gill was dismissed for 91 in the second innings of the Brisbane Test.

IND Vs AUS Brisbane Test: On the last day of Brisbane Test, India has pushed host Australia on the backfoot. The 21-year-old opener Shubman Gill, batting brilliantly, almost eliminated the possibility of Australia winning. Gill played a brilliant innings of 91 runs. With this excellent innings, Gill has broken the big record of Sunil Gavaskar.

Shubman Gill became the youngest opener to score a half-century in the fourth innings. Gill scored a brilliant half-century in the fourth Test match played with Australia at the Gabba International Stadium in Brisbane. On Tuesday, on the fifth day of the match, Gill completed his half-century by stealing two runs off Jos Hazelwood’s shot to the wide cover, then his age was 21 and 133 days.

Prior to Gill, this record was in the name of India’s greatest opener, Sunil Gavaskar, who scored an unbeaten 67 in his debut match against the West Indies at the Port of Spain in 1970–71.

Gill made his debut with the Melbourne Test and has played innings of 45, 25, 50, 31, 7 and 91 runs so far. Gill has managed to score 251 runs at an average of more than 50 in his debut series.
