However, the BCCI has not yet issued an official statement on the exclusion of both of them from the tour of England.

In the match played between India and County Select XI, Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar participated for County XI. But Avesh Khan got injured while stopping a shot from Hanuma Vihari on the very first day of the match. After this Avesh Khan went out of the field.

Avesh Khan’s thumb injury is unlikely to recover before the Test series. It may take more than a month for Avesh Khan to fully recover from this injury. Therefore, Avesh Khan is believed to be out of the England tour.

Sundar too hurt

In some media reports, there is also talk of injury to Washington Sundar. However, the all-rounder, who was representing the County XI in the warm-up match, came on the field on the last day of the match and also took a catch of Mayank Agarwal. According to media reports, Sundar has also suffered a thumb injury. It is being claimed that Sundar may take 6 weeks to recover completely.

India’s opener Shubman Gill has already been ruled out of the Test series against England due to a leg injury. Shubman Gill has returned to India on Thursday itself.

With Shubman and Avesh being out, India has only 22 fit players in England. Soon some more players can be announced by the BCCI to send them to England as a backup. In view of the havoc of Corona virus, it has become very important for more players to be in England in England.
