IPL 2021: CSKvPBKS- Rahul’s Kings not overcoming Chahar War, Chennai’s first win

In the IPL 2021 match played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, against the Chennai Super Kings, Punjab, batting first, scored 106 for eight wickets in 20 overs. In response, Chennai scored the first win in the tournament, scoring the target on the loss of four wickets.

But after this, the Punjab bowlers could not leave any special effect on the batsmen of Chennai and for the second wicket, Faf du Plessis and Moin Ali added 66 runs for Chennai. Chennai’s second wicket fell as Moin Ali at the score of 90 in the 13th over. Ali scored 46 runs off 31 balls before being dismissed. In his innings, he hit seven fours and a six.

However, Chennai lost two wickets for two consecutive balls in the 15th over of their innings. Mohammed Shami was putting on the 15th over. On the third and fourth ball of this over, he dismissed Raina and Rayudu. Suresh Raina was caught by wicketkeeper KL Rahul in an attempt to play a pull shot on a bouncer from Shami.

After that, on the very next ball, Ambati Rayudu caught Puran in an attempt to put a shot from above the cover. Rayudu could not even open his account. After this, no other batsman was out and Chennai recorded their first win in the tournament.

Du Plessis was not out after scoring 36 runs off 33 balls.

Punjab innings

Earlier, Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to bowl first after winning the toss. His decision was proved by Deepak Chahar. He was the hero of the bowling of Chennai and continued to send the top order of Punjab to the pavilion.

Shahrukh Khan made the most from Punjab Kings. He scored 47 runs off 36 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Deepak Chahar bowled Punjab opener Mayank Agarwal in the first over. Mayank could not even open his account.

After this, captain KL Rahul was also run out in the second and third over of Chahar.

Chris Gayle also kept going in Deepak Chahar’s third and fifth over of the match. On Chahar’s ball, Ravindra Jadeja caught him. He contributed 10 runs.

Then came the turn of Deepak Hooda, the hero of the last match. He also became a victim of Deepak Chahar’s ball. He scored 10 runs.

Dhoni got Chahar out for four consecutive overs. At the end of seven overs of Punjab’s batting, Deepak Chahar finished his quota by four overs. During this, he took four wickets for 13 runs.

He threw his last over maiden. During his bowling spell of 25 balls including a wide, Deepak did not allow the Punjab batsmen to score any runs on 18 balls (dot ball).

Shahrukh’s bat shined

After Deepak’s bowling, Punjab’s wickets did not fall for the next five overs. During this, Shahrukh Khan kept scoring runs from one end, Richardson was supporting him at the other.

Apart from Shahrukh Khan’s highest score of 47, Richardson scored 15 and Chris Gayle and Deepak Hooda scored 10 from Punjab. Nicholas Pooran and Mayank Agarwal could not open the account.

At the same time, apart from Deepak Chahar’s four wickets from Chennai, Sam Karen, Moin Ali and Dwayne Bravo took one wicket each.

Chennai lost their first match to Delhi by seven wickets. At the same time, Punjab had defeated Rajasthan Royals by four runs.

With this match played on Friday, there have been 24 matches between Chennai and Punjab in the IPL so far.

Among them, Chennai Super Kings won 15 times and Punjab 9 times.

However, CSK has been overwhelming after winning five of the last six matches.
