These umpires joined the ICC panel, said – the dream came true

Former Kerala leg-spinner KN Ananthapadamanabhan has been included in the panel of international umpires of the ICC. Ananthapadamanabhan has expressed his happiness saying that it is a dream come true for him.

Former Kerala captain Ananthapadmanabhan said, ‘I have been waiting for this for a long time and I knew that I would get it and now I am very happy.’

KN Ananthapadamanabhan said, ‘I missed playing for the country. Anil Kumble, the country’s greatest leg-spinner, retained his dominance. We played almost at the same time and I failed to play for the country.

Prior to umpiring, KN Ananthapadamanabhan has played 105 first-class matches for Kerala. He started his career from 1988-89 and played till 2003-04. He also played for India-A against Australia in 1998.

KN Ananthapadamanabhan said, ‘There are a lot of international matches to be played and I hope I will be in one of those matches. I knew I would make a place in it because I was given a lot of opportunities by the ICC to hone my skills.
