Younis Khan Appointed as Batting Coach for Pakistan Tour

International cricket is going to start again in July. The first three Test matches will be played between West Indies and England.

Test series to be played between Pakistan and England in August. This series, played between Pakistan and England, is part of the Test Championship. In view of this series, Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed former captain Younis Khan as batting coach. Along with this, Mushtaq Ahmed has been given the responsibility of spin bowling coach.

Younis has been a very successful batsman for Pakistan, scoring 10,099 runs in 118 Test matches. The highest score of his career is 313 runs. He also became the world’s number one Test batsman in the ICC rankings.

Pakistan has to play a three-Test series against England from July 30. The two teams will also play a series of three T20 matches from 29 August. “I am happy that a batsman with a great batting record like Younis Khan has agreed to join the Pakistan cricket structure as the batting coach of the national team,” the PCB chief said.

Former leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed took 185 wickets in 52 Tests for Pakistan. He has also been a spin bowling coach of England and West Indies before this. Wasim said, “Mushtaq understands the circumstances of England very well. He has spent a lot of time there playing county cricket and working with the England cricket team. Along with helping the spinners and playing the role of mentor, Mushtaq can also help (head coach) Misbah-ul-Haq in making strategies for the match.

Misbah also welcomed the inclusion of Younis and Mushtaq in the coaching panel. However, the England Cricket Board has not yet announced the schedule for the Test series with Pakistan.
