New York. Ex-girlfriend of US billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein has accused Ghislaine Maxwell of physical abuse by guards in prison. Maxwell’s attorney, Attorney Bobby Sternheim, claimed in a letter to a Manhattan court that Maxwell had been abused recently at the Metropolitan Detention Center. During this, the worn Maxwell was kept in the isolation cell.
‘Asked to follow the tree …’
It is alleged that the guard ordered Ghislaine Maxwell to clean the walls behind the broom and give a shower. Maxwell refused to let the guard do so because of the extremely narrow place. According to Maxwell’s lawyer, the British socialite tried to record the incident with a camera, but the guard did not let it happen. Sternheim has said, when Maxwell tried to report the matter, he was threatened with disciplinary action.
Epstein committed suicide in prison
Let me tell you, 59-year-old Maxwell is accused of sexually abusing three minor girls in 1990 by his boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein, who brought these girls to Maxwell. The case is in court since 2016. He is lodged in jail due to bail. Epstein was also arrested following allegations of ‘sex trafficking’. A month after his arrest, he committed suicide in a Manhattan jail.
In December, Maxwell also applied for bail but the court rejected it. The court said that Maxwell could be absconding during bail. Lawyer Sternheim said that Maxwell is repeatedly called for questioning deliberately. When she sleeps, a light flashes every 15 minutes in her cell. Sternheim has alleged that Maxwell has undergone a ‘physical search’ process about 1,400 times in the last seven months. He said that his client has been kept under 24-hour surveillance by two to six guards and about 18 cameras.
