Reports have said that the new SUV will replace the Honda WR-V in some markets. However, some reports have also claimed that the company will sell the WR-V along with the new ZR-V. This is because the WR-V is basically the crossover version of the company’s premium hatchback Jazz, while the ZR-V is expected to get a rugged SUV design.
Honda’s new sub-compact SUV is expected to be based on the new-generation Honda City platform. The company can also use the Honda Amaze platform for this SUV. This platform is claimed to be compatible with many body styles and many types of engines.
The Indian market will compete with the new Honda ZR-V in SUVs such as Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and Kia Sonnet. At the same time, it will compete directly with Toyota Raize in Japan.

The Honda ZR-V is expected to get 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engines. The global model can also get a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder taborcharged petrol engine, which generates 122bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. It will get both manual and CVT gearbox options. This new sub-compact SUV from Honda can be launched in the year 2021.

Honda is also going to bring a new-generation HR-V SUV, which can be launched in late 2020 or early 2021. The new model will be based on Honda’s new platform. The new HR-V will be slightly larger than the current model, giving the company good space to bring a small and affordable SUV. The new Honda HR-V will compete with SUVs such as the Kia Celtos, Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks in the market.
