Chief Justice said – Dr. Ambedkar had proposed to make Sanskrit as the national language

Chief Justice of India Sharad Bobde said that Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar first proposed to make Sanskrit the official language of the country. He said that Babasaheb had an understanding of the country, so he proposed it but it could not pass.

Chief Justice of India on Wednesday, quoting Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, has demanded that Sanskrit be made the official language. He also gave many arguments behind it. Although he did not directly demand it, but this is the meaning of the arguments he presented. He said that Dr. Bhamrao Ambedkar had proposed to make Sanskrit an “official language”.

He said that Ambedkar understood the political and social issues of the country very well and also knew what the people wanted. Justice Bobde was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the academic building of Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU). Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Union Minister and MP from Nagpur Nitin Gadkari and others participated in the program organized digitally.

In no case is jurisprudence less than Aristotle’s logic

Chief Justice Bobde said that our ancient Indian treatise ‘Jurisprudence’ is in no way inferior to the classical system of Aristotle and Phaser, but we did not give importance to it. He said that there is no reason that we should ignore it. He said that we should not take advantage of these talents of our ancestors.

Remembering the architect BR Ambedkar on his 130th birth anniversary, the Chief Justice said, “Today is the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar who reminds me of the language used during speaking and the language used during work.” The middle conflict is very old. He said, the Supreme Court has received many applications as to what language should be used in the subordinate courts, but I think the subject has not been considered.

The Chief Justice said, but Dr. Ambedkar was aware of this aspect and proposed a proposal saying that the official language of the Union of India should be Sanskrit.

Sanskrit is not opposed even in the south

On the issue of national language, Justice Bobde said, I believe that Tamil cannot be an acceptable language in North India. Similarly, Hindi cannot be an acceptable language of South India. But Sanskrit is such a language which can be acceptable everywhere. He said that Baba Saheb probably wanted to make Sanskrit the official language of this thinking. However, he did not get success on this.

Bobde said that Ambedkar was not only deeply aware of the law but was also well aware of social and political issues. Justice Bobde said, he knew what the people wanted, what the poor of the country wanted. He was well aware of all these aspects and I think that is why he would have made this proposal.

Appeal to train lawyers well

The Chief Justice said that the law school is the nursery of the legal profession, from where the plant of judges along with our legal professionals is also prepared. Many of them have dreams come true with Maharashtra National Law University. Chief Justice Bobde will retire on April 23. Justice NV Raman will be the next Chief Justice.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Thackeray congratulated MNLU and said that the state government will always support the judiciary and its institutions. He appealed to the MNLU teachers to train the students well so that they will always uphold the values ​​of democracy once they become judges or lawyers.
