But according to media reports, a bug has surfaced in Whatsapp, due to which the mobile numbers of crores of Whatsapp users have been revealed in Google Search.
The disclosure of this time has been shared by Independent Cyber Security Researcher Atul Jayaram in his blog. It has been told in the blog that due to this bug, mobile numbers of 29,000 to 30,000 Whatsapp users are available in plain text form, in such a way that anyone can use them on the Internet.
It has also been mentioned in the blog that users from almost all the countries including the US, UK and India have been managed. The blog also mentions that due to this bug, the data of the users in the open web has become available due to which it is quite easy to access.
It has also been mentioned in the blog that due to Whatsapp’s feature Click to Chat, users’ mobile numbers can be in danger. In such a situation, any internet user can search the mobile number of Whatsapp users. But Facebook (Whatsapp owned company) has made it clear that this is not a big deal. Google search has the same results that users have selected to make themselves public.
