Yogi Adityanath Declares Holiday on these Festivals

Public holiday announced on Chhath Puja and Kartik Purnima in UP, this day will be a holiday

Lucknow: Honouring the sentiments of the public, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared a public holiday on the occasions of Chhath Pooja and Kartik Purnima. On  November 10, Chhath and on November 19, Kartik Purnima will be a holiday in all Govt. offices and related departments. Mr Yogi said that a large number of devotees visit the fairs of Kartik month including Chhath Mahaparv.

Order for Cleaning the ghats Issued

 On the wake of these festivals, especially the Chhath festival, Yogi Adityanath has issued the order to the concerned officers to make sure that all the security arrangements are taken care of and the ghats are well-cleaned along with lighting, parking and potable water arrangements.

The CMO has directed the officials to make sure that the people do not face any sort of hardships in taking permission to organise the fairs and exercise the religious freedom of the people of Uttar Pradesh.

The spokesman of CMO further said, “ ‘Panchkosi’ and ‘Chadah Kosi Parikrama which will start in Ayodhya from November 14. The spokesman said that Garhmukteshwar fair in Hapur, Dev Deepawali in Varanasi and Dadri fair in Ballia would be organized on November 19. Similarly, many fairs will be organized in Etah, Bareilly, Kanpur and Rae Bareli.

Make night shelters in the state

CMO has also ordered to make night shelters at various locations as temperature is plummeting and hence the homeless and poor will have very tough days ahead.

The official added, “This year is expected to be very cold and in view of this, nodal officers should be appointed. In collaboration with the local municipal bodies, the police should ensure that no person sleeps on the footpath, square or under any idol. “

The festival of Chhath is celebrated with deep sense of devotion in Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh in eastern India.
