200 trains to run from June 1, online booking starts

Around 12000 railway trains across the country were closed from 22 March on the wake of Janata curfew. Shramik special for migrant labourers and 15 special trains have already started from May 12.

 Between the Corona crisis and the lockdown, rail passengers were expected to be relieved. The railway will start 200 trains from June 1. Their list has already been released. These include trains like Duronto, Sampark Kranti, Jan Shatabdi and Purva Express. These trains will have AC and non AC coaches. Reservations will also have to be taken to sit in the general coach. That is, there will be no unreserved coach in the train.

Online booking for seats in these trains will begin on May 21 i.e. Thursday morning at 10 am on the IRCTC website and the mobile App. No tickets will be booked from the reservation counter. The advance reservation period for these will be 30 days, RAC and waiting list rules will be as before.

Have to sit in general coach by paying sleeper

According to railway officials, the fare for trains running from June 1 will be normal, but for booking a seat in a general coach, the fare of the sleeper will also be paid. Railways has said that all passengers will get seats i.e. there will be no waiting. No passenger will be able to travel on waiting tickets. No unreserved ticket will be received in any way, nor is there any arrangement for Tatkal tickets.

Currently, Shramik trains and special trains are being run. The Railways held discussions with the Union Health Ministry before the introduction of new trains from 1 June. Earlier on Tuesday, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had talked about running 200 non AC trains from 1 June. Shramik special trains for migrant laborers were started from May 1 and 15 special trains on Rajdhani route from May 12.

Railway canceled all tickets till 30 June

12 thousand passenger trains of railways across the country were stopped on Janata curfew i.e. 22 March. Apart from this, the railways had canceled all the tickets booked for till June 30, and also gave refund to passengers. This means that it will take time for the trains to ply like normal days.
