Researchers say that there is information about the 15 largest dinosaurs in the world so far. The Australotitan coparensis or the Southern Titan (Titanosaur) is one of them.

According to experts, these titanosaurs must have been up to 6.5 meters high and 30 meters long. This means that they must have been roughly the size of a basketball court.

The skeleton of a titanosaur was first found in a field in Aromanga, southwest Queensland.

Scientists have been studying it for more than a decade. After comparing the scans of its bones with those of other sauropods, scientists have determined that it is different from all the sauropods known so far.

Sauropods were huge dinosaurs that depended on plants and trees. The size of his head was small and his neck was long. Their tail was thick and long while their legs were like pillars.

According to scientists, these dinosaurs must have lived on the continent during the Cretaceous period, about 92 to 96 million years ago.

Since this titanosaur fossil was found near Cooper Creek in Queensland, the team of researchers named it Cooper.

Scientists say that due to the size of the skeleton and the surrounding conditions, it was very difficult for them to research it.

However, the Queensland Museum and the Aromanga Natural History Museum reported that many fragments of the relic were in good condition.

Researchers believe that this dinosaur may have been close to three other sauropod species – Vintonotan, Diamantinosaurus and Swanasaurus.

The head of the research team, Dr. Scott Hocknall, says that it seems that this largest dinosaur of Australia may have been part of a huge family.

Its fossils were first found on a farm near Aromanga and were owned by two dinosaur researchers, Robin and Stuart Mackenzie.

The Queensland State Government has welcomed this new discovery. Queensland Museums Network Chief Executive Dr Jim Thompson said Australia is one of the last few places in the world to discover dinosaurs, and Queensland is now set to become Australia’s Archaeological Capital.

However, he also admitted that a lot more research is still needed in this matter.
