89-year-old famous Bengali poet Shankh Ghosh has passed away today. He was infected with the Corona virus.

The famous Bengali poet Shankh Ghosh, who is suffering from Corona infection, has died today. The 89-year-old poet was already suffering from several diseases and was admitted to the hospital a few months ago. Apart from Padma Bhushan award, Ghosh has also been conferred with Ravindra Award, Jnanpith and Sahitya Akademi Award etc.

Corona infection is spreading in Bengal very fast. The daily reported cases of infection have doubled in the last eight days. The state had the highest number of 9,819 cases of infection in one day yesterday. The total number of infected people in the country has crossed 15 million.

Corona status in Bengal

In Bengal, 9,819 new cases of infection with Corona virus were reported on Tuesday, which is the highest number of days on a single day. With this, the total number of infected people in the state increased to 6,78,172. Since April 13, the number of new infections has more than doubled in one day. At least 46 more patients died and with this the total number of dead reached 10,652.

Meanwhile, 4,805 more patients became healthy in the state. At present, the rate of recovery in the state is 89.82 percent. Currently, 58,386 patients are being treated in the state.
